YOUTH CONGRESS 2022
Youth Congress was conducted on the weekend of March 11-13, with the theme "I BELIEVE," with the goal of equipping youth to stand firm in their views as a Seventh-Day Adventist youth. The weekend began with an opening ceremony that welcomed the attendees back to Congress after a two-year absence due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. During this year's congress, the youth participated in sessions that allowed them to learn about financial independence, relationship objectives, and why we as Seventh-Day Adventists believe what we believe. The youth were also inspired by dynamic preaching and energetic praise and worship sessions giving glory to God. The weekend concluded with a closing ceremony in which the youth were charged with the task of being bold and unashamed in going out into the world and spreading God's word. #ITSOKAYTOBESDA
GLOBAL YOUTH DAY 2022
How many times have we gone about our everyday lives, completely forgetting about those around us or that long-lost church member? This year's global youth day, allowed us to focus not just on those in need, but also on those who are often overlooked. The church, in partnership with the youth department and pathfinders, deemed it appropriate to give back to our community, notably our brethren in Ukraine who are going through a terrible period, under the theme "Loving the Forgotten." On March 19th, medical supplies, words of encouragement in the form of cards, and prayer were collected on behalf of the Ukrainian people and delivered to our neighboring Ukrainian church for shipment to Ukraine.
The scripture tells us in Mathew 25:42-45, "For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall He answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me."
